Choose which Insurance Plan is Right for You
Medicare Advantage Plans
While original Medicare and Medicare Supplements offer little or no coverage outside the US, certain Medicare Advantage Plans offer emergency coverage on a reimbursement basis, and when used with Lakeside Medical Group, you have zero out-of-pocket costs and they do all the billing for you.
Emergency Medical Plans
Emergency medical plans are guaranteed issue, you can be in Mexico when you apply, and the plans can be from 1 month to 12 months in duration. They are extendable and renewable for 24 months.
Expat Major Medical
Expat major medical insurance is expensive, fully underwritten, and usually doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. Since Americans can return to the US for treatment of serious non-emergencies like cancer and scheduled surgeries without wait or penalty, most people go with an emergency medical plan or Medicare Advantage.
